had the exact same experience in Hollywood this past week. A combination of 2 of the last shows you wrote about.

11:00pm, 1500 people inside Avalon, and this awful resident dj playing before a crowd a dummies, eating up track after track of uninspired music. How does that get someone the biggest residency in L.A. ? And what does it say about the people paying to listen to that? An equally awful set by the headliner follows, and ultimately I can guarantee that most people went home drunk and happy. But only because they don’t really know how much better it could have been. And maybe it’s a curse knowing sometimes. Because the expectations of a good night become so hard to meet.

Warlock is what got me on the floor and in to the night as well. you guys played a killer set of heavy, diverse dnb; pretty sure i was sweatin on the floor right through the whole thing. and i’m pretty sure i came and gave you and Karl props for several tunes. don’t let the kids discourage you – they wouldn’t know great bass music if it reached out and sucked them in to the speaker and slapped them around a wee bit.

In case you were curious, the Hot 89.9 is still capable of destroying braincells en masse. Not to mention, the morning show collectively failed the school of life. (I had a lame carpool.)

Happy belated, Fiver! I moved to the Arctic on your birthday… otherwise I might have come out. It’s been too long! Now the only place to go dancing is the Legion, lol.
